These are my abstract gestural paintings on canvas. I work mainly with acrylic paint on canvas, often applying thick layers of paint with brushes of varying sizes. I work quickly and spontaneously using a wet-on-wet technique. The exploration of gesture, abstraction and the sometimes incidental is important in my work. I enjoy experimenting with a range of different colours, sometimes using fluorescent paint. The paintings can often resemble natural phenomena, such as agate, geodes, marble or even sliced flesh.
Each painting is available to purchase through Etsy and Saatchi Art. Please click on one of the links below the painting to be redirected to Etsy or Saatchi Art where you can purchase the original painting (unless it has already been sold).
I am also available for commissions, in which you can choose the colour and size, feel free to send me a message through the "contact" section at the top of this page or email me at contact@anthonylawlor.co.uk.
